Teacher of the Month Award invites community members to share the stories of exceptional local educators
The program welcomes nominations for teachers at any grade level in the Colorado Springs area. Whether an educator finds a creative way to reach a struggling student, builds a classroom where everyone feels welcome, or gives extra time to support their school, the award offers an opportunity to bring that work into the spotlight.
“Most of us can name a teacher who saw something in us before we saw it in ourselves,” said Christopher Nicolaysen, founder and CEO of Springs Law Group. “Those moments stay with us. Through this award, we want to recognize the teachers creating that kind of lasting impact for students right here in Colorado Springs.”
Nicolaysen, whose career began in education, brings a personal connection to the program’s mission.
“Having worked in education, I know how much care and effort goes into helping students succeed,” Nicolaysen said. “A nomination is a simple but meaningful way to tell a teacher, ‘Your work matters, and our community sees it.’ We encourage people to share a specific story about what makes their nominee exceptional.”
