OCALA, FL, UNITED STATES, September 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Great American Self Storage is officially open in Ocala and invites the community to help celebrate with a BBQ & Grand Opening celebration on Wednesday, September 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 9190 SW State Road 200.

The free event will feature a ribbon-cutting, champagne toast, tours of the new facility, and BBQ prepared by Great American Self Storage's own facility manager, Rodney Peska. Guests can stop by, grab lunch, meet the team, and get a firsthand look at a facility built to rethink what self-storage can offer in Central Florida.

For decades, storage customers have faced a choice between the convenience of backing a vehicle right up to a unit and the protection of climate control. The new Ocala facility ends that standoff with climate-controlled drive-up storage units that combine both.

Customers can pull directly up to an air-conditioned unit, a difference that matters not only for household storage but also for contractors, small businesses and online sellers who regularly move inventory, tools and equipment in and out. Select units feature multi-door access for faster loading, and on-site trailer parking is also available.

Every unit has Bluetooth-enabled smart locks, eliminating the need for traditional padlocks and keys. The facility also tips its hat to its hometown with climate-controlled tack storage, giving residents of the Horse Capital of the World a temperature-controlled option for storing saddles, riding gear and other equestrian equipment.

As part of the Grand Opening, Great American Self Storage will also welcome a representative from Operation Christmas Child. Guests can visit the facility's gift tree, select a tag, and purchase requested items to help fill gift boxes for children this holiday season.

The Ocala facility was developed in partnership with RSG Development, which specializes in Class A self-storage and boat/RV storage facilities.
