DOWNERS GROVE, IL, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Healthcare practices are facing a new generation of cyber threats as artificial intelligence makes phishing, social engineering and impersonation attacks more convincing and easier to execute. CyRx360, a healthcare-focused cybersecurity provider backed by Physicians Revenue Group, Inc., will examine these emerging threats and the growing security risks created by third-party vendors during a webinar on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at noon CT.

The webinar, “The New Threat Landscape: AI Attacks & Your Vendor Blind Spot,” will focus on how attackers are using AI to bypass traditional security awareness training. The session will examine AI-generated phishing, voice cloning and deepfake video, along with a practice scenario demonstrating how an attacker could combine several AI-enabled tactics to redirect a payment without deploying malware or breaching a practice’s firewall.

“AI has changed the equation for healthcare practices,” said Azan Khan, Global Head of Technology, Innovation & Security at Physicians Revenue Group and Co-Founder and Head of IT & Cybersecurity at CyRx360. “The warning signs people were trained to recognize are disappearing. A phishing email can look legitimate, a phone call can sound like someone you trust, and a video can appear to show a real executive. Healthcare organizations need security processes designed for this new reality.”

The webinar will also address a less visible source of cyber risk: third-party vendors. Healthcare practices rely on a growing network of organizations and technologies with access to patient information or critical business systems, including electronic health record systems, clearinghouses, billing and revenue cycle partners, IT providers, telehealth platforms, AI scribes, laboratories and payroll systems. The session emphasizes that a signed business associate agreement establishes a legal relationship but does not by itself make a vendor secure.

The webinar will provide attendees with a five-step approach to vendor risk: maintaining a complete vendor inventory, keeping business associate agreements current, verifying multifactor authentication and breach notification practices, limiting vendor access, and establishing a written downtime plan.

Attendees will also receive a seven-point cybersecurity protection checklist covering multifactor authentication, AI-aware employee training, verification protocols, patching and system replacement, tested backups, vendor management and incident response, along with a five-question self-assessment to help identify gaps in their current defenses.

The webinar is part of CyRx360’s ongoing effort to help healthcare organizations strengthen cybersecurity as threats grow more sophisticated and increasingly extend beyond an organization’s own technology environment.
