Macron Warns Against Forced Iran Regime Change
He emphasized the urgent need to cease all offensives targeting non-combatants in both Iran and Israel.
While addressing journalists at the G7 gathering in Canada, Macron highlighted the dangers of foreign military interference, noting that these strategies have repeatedly failed to create lasting peace.
He stated, “Those who believe that bombing from the outside can save a country despite itself and against itself have always been wrong,” underlining the futility of external military solutions.
Macron also firmly denounced the bombardment of non-military zones and critical facilities.
He asserted, "It is absolutely essential that all strikes carried out on both sides, against energy, administrative, and cultural infrastructure, and especially against civilians, must stop. Nothing justifies them and they are absolutely intolerable," reinforcing his position that such assaults are unacceptable under any circumstances.
In a formal statement released the same day, the G7 described Iran as "the main source of instability and terrorism in the region," reflecting heightened international concerns regarding Tehran’s atomic ambitions.
Tensions in the region have intensified since Friday, when Israeli forces launched aerial attacks on numerous Iranian locations, including defense and nuclear sites.
These strikes provoked retaliatory missile attacks from Tehran, further escalating the conflict.
